Delaware Valley Professionals:

The Announcements of the Spring 2008 courses available, at http://www.engrclub.org/, through the services Engineers' Club Educational and the Spring 2008 Series of Engineering Tours of the Delaware Valley Programs. These are two of the services offered by the Club in its continuing effort to address the needs of the Engineering Community of the Delaware Valley.

As I am sure you are aware, continuing education is rapidly becoming a requirement to maintain proficiency in engineering. States are moving towards requiring such education in order to maintain engineering licensure. Toward that end, we have expanded our education program and would welcome any suggestions as to future courses and locations.

The Engineers' Club, in addition to its education program, conducts a full schedule of inspection tours of locations of engineering interest. These recently included the tour of the Schuylkill River, the Victory Brewery, the new Please Touch Museum, the new KYW TV studios and a walking tour of Philadelphia skyscrapers old and new. These tours were well attended and provided a good opportunity for networking. Moreover, the Club schedules technical meetings throughout the year on topics of interest to the entire Engineering Community. For instance, our meeting held November 28, 2007, featured John J. Matheussen, CEO of the Delaware River Port Authority who gave a presentation on the DRPA/PATCO Capital Program.

Won’t you join us in our efforts to promote engineering in the Delaware Valley? The application fee for joining is only $25. This fee and your first year’s dues are required with the application. Yearly dues are only $100 for active members and $25 for full time students. This nominal sum makes you a member and supporter of the Engineers’ Club and aids us in advancing the programs listed above. It also provides you our annual directory (Who’s Who in Engineering in the Delaware Valley), our newsletter, a 10% discount on any of our education courses you take, attendance at our engineering tours at no cost, and the opportunity for you or a family member to compete for an annual scholarship up to $1,500 to defray tuition and direct expenses for an engineering degree, certification, or continuing education. These benefits make your membership in the Engineers’ Club both worthwhile and cost effective.

For more information, please review our member benefits page membership.html or contact the Club. To apply just download, complete and mail the Application Form. We look forward to welcoming you to The Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia.

Sincerely,

Eric L. Flicker
