Details:

Historically, the differentially weathered character of the Wissahickon Rock Mass Formation resulted in the assignment of low allowable end bearing values of 50 to 60 ksf for drilled shafts. This presentation will show how the design and execution of a load test to failure more than doubled the allowable drilled shaft end bearing value to 200 ksf.
