About this event
Drexel's 4th Lives & Lessons of the Underrepresented in STEM
October 26th from 10:00 am - 12:15 pm
Drexel campus, Bossone Atrium
See below from Kyla Gardiola, Diversity & Inclusion Director for the Drexel University's Society of Women Engineers:
Lives & Lessons is a half-day event with goals to raise awareness of challenges that underrepresented communities face everyday in STEM. We do so by having panelists from various backgrounds in both industry and academia present eye-opening stories that help spark meaningful discussions with the audience. Last year, Lives & Lessons was awarded "Outstanding Program of the Year" by the 2019 Drexel Student Life Awards, and we hope to make it even better for this upcoming fall and inspire more underrepresented communities. This year, we will be collaborating with Drexel organizations out in STEM, Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers to ensure that this event inspires all backgrounds!
Lives & Lessons is set to be on Drexel's campus at the Bossone Atrium in Philadelphia on October 26th from 10:00 am - 12:15 pm with lunch following afterwards. We would love to have a SWE professional as a panelist and share their stories. Please see this panelist interest form if interested.
