Volunteers will present a hands-on shoreline protection demonstration showcasing the role civil engineers play in protecting communities from flooding and erosion. Students will observe that, when applied strategically, the shape and placement of engineered infrastructure can reduce wave energy and mitigate coastal impacts, using simple models to illustrate real-world problem-solving.
