-Gobain CertainTeed’s new headquarters is a living lab. Learn about the benefits and challenges of renovating an existing building into a double LEED Platinum project.In 2016, CR Magazine published a list of the most sustainable corporate headquarters. On the list, were leading companies including Saint-Gobain CertainTeed.Demonstrating their leadership in sustainability, instead of building a ground-up, new corporate headquarters, Saint-Gobain CertainTeed transformed a 320,000 SF existing office building into a state of the art headquarters incorporating innovative solutions for energy use and a premier environment for employees. The project recently achieved LEED v2009 for Core & Shell Development Platinum certification and LEED v2009 for Commercial Interiors Platinum certification.

Presenter:

Michael Pavelsky, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Michael is Senior Associate and Sustainability Director at The Sheward Partnership, LLC, an architecture, planning, and sustainability consulting firm based in Philadelphia. Michael is responsible for directing all sustainable design and LEED efforts within the firm having managed nearly 600 LEED projects throughout the U.S., Canada and abroad. Michael is a Registered Architect and LEED Accredited Professional with over fifteen years of progressive sustainable design and consulting experience. Michael earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree, with honors, minoring in Historic Preservation from Philadelphia University.
