Atlantic County Utilities AuthorityResiliency Projects at the Wastewater Treatment Plant(1 PDH)
In response to Superstorm Sandy and other coastal flooding events, the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) recognized a need to increase the resiliency of the infrastructure at the wastewater treatment plant located in Atlantic City, NJ. A series of projects over multiple years was implemented to help the treatment plant withstand extreme weather events. Projects included installation of an FRP seawall, emergency power system upgrades, portable flood protection barriers, building sump replacements, and various other emergency response equipment upgrades. The projects have given the Authority piece of mind and the ability to withstand future extreme weather events. (1 PDH will be provided)
Presenter Bio:
Matthew J. DeNafo, PE, CME is the Vice President of Centralized Maintenance and Asset Management for the Authority. Matt is a graduate of Rowan University with a BS in Civil Engineering and MS in Environmental Engineering. Matt also holds an MBA from Rutgers University.
John A. Conover, PE, CME is a Senior Engineer for the Authority. John is graduate of Rowan University with a BS in Civil Engineering and a MS in Engineering Management.
