The 2020 SWE/Widener University Engineering Girls Camp for high school girls has 2 laboratory sessions in the morning followed by a break for lunch and panel discussions, and concluding with 2 laboratory sessions in the afternoon.
The camp is an opportunity for high school girls interested in science and math to explore engineering and computer science careers in a hands-on laboratory setting with women engineers and computer scientists and female engineering and computer science students from Widener University. There is a separate Parents Program that runs concurrently with the Girls Camp. More information about the camp is available at http://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/fOnsC82K2Bfw7ZJEIjYSym?domain=widener.edu.
Please volunteer to help out this year's camp. All the labs are fairly simple and straightforward and there will be Widener students helping you. We try to assign volunteers to labs that are related to their field of work or their engineering discipline. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LABS HAVE ALREADY BEEN PUT TOGETHER, SO YOUR PREP TIME PRIOR TO THE CAMP IS MINIMAL. Keep in mind that we’re always scrambling to find volunteers from all disciplines, but especially from biomedical and chemical engineering as that is what interests a lot of our high school student registrants.
If you can't be available all day, consider volunteering for either the morning or the afternoon sessions. To volunteer, please register on-line at https://form.jotform.com/53623695291967. The registration website also has additional information about the labs we plan to run. If you have questions, please email Vicki Brown at vlbrown@widener.edu.
