The Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) are joining forces to help energize your networking. A panel of energy industry and Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) leaders will share personal insights and lessons learned from their experiences building and nurturing relationships. In addition, a photographer will be on site offering complimentary headshots to update your LinkedIn profile, and there’ll be a refresher on networking tips and tricks. Don’t miss this opportunity to power up your network.

Join us to kickoff the event and get acquainted with the space! Help yourself to food and beverages, checkout the game room, or take a moment to get your professional portrait taken. The event space is provided by McCormick Taylor, who moved to 1818 Market St. in the summer of 2019. McCormick Taylor is a full-service civil engineering firm providing creative design, planning, and environmental solutions for the challenges of everyday life. Since 1946, they’ve focusedon their relationships withpeople—their clients, employees, and the communities they serve.

What type of clothes should I wear?
This image will be used to represent you professionally, so please dress accordingly. Men should wear a suit jacket, sweater, or a nice dress shirt with tie. Women should wear a button-down shirt, blouse, or tailored jacket. Avoid camisoleor off-the-shoulder shirts. You also want to be somewhat comfortable in what you’re wearing, or your picture will look stiff and unnatural. Please be aware of clothing that wrinkles easily, as that will look sloppy and unprofessional.
What colors photograph best/worst?
Solid colors photograph best, and most people look good in mid-tones (greens, blues, browns, etc.). White is okay, but avoid colors that approximate or match your personal flesh tones — use your best judgement and try not to match your clothing to your own skin color. Avoid wearing clothing with patterns or accessories that distract from your face. Very bright reds, yellows, and oranges can also be distracting and are not recommended.
Should I wear jewelry?
Jewelry can be a great accessory to your outfit but should not distract from your face. Less is usually more. Necklaces look best when they are shorter and mimic the neckline of your shirt.

Kathy has served as the Marketing Coordinator working directly with McCormick Taylor’s energy group since 2017. One of her main responsibilities in this role is business development. Not only does Kathy attend numerous networking events and conferences each year to promote McCormick Taylor’s services to potential energy clients, she works with other McCormick Taylor staff members to track and strategize their own business development efforts. Kathy has been an active member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Young Professionals in Energy since 2018 and currently serves on its Communications Committee. Prior to coming on full time, she worked for McCormick Taylor as a marketing intern. Kathy has a Bachelors in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing from Loyola University Maryland.

Christine Knapp | Director of the Office of Sustainability for the City of Philadelphia | Panelist
Christine Knapp was appointed as the Director of the Office of Sustainability for the City of Philadelphia under Mayor Jim Kenney’s administration in January of 2016. Previously, she served in leadership roles at the Philadelphia Water Department, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficient Buildings Hub, and at PennFuture where she advocated for the creation of a municipal sustainability office. She is on the board of the Passyunk Square Civic Association and lives in the neighborhood with her husband and daughter. She is a graduate of Villanova University, was a 2010 Center for Progressive Leadership Political Fellow, and has been recognized by Leadership Philadelphia as a “Keeper and Connector”.

Andrew Daga | Founder, President and CEO of Momentum Dynamics | Panelist
Andy is the founder and serves as the President, and CEO of Momentum Dynamics, the global leader in fast, efficient high-power wireless charging for electric vehicles. He holds degrees in structural and civil engineering, architecture, and space science and technology. Andy’s primary responsibilities include formulating the company’s business strategy, working with the Board of Directors, and implementing strategy through the coordination of technology development, market analysis, and partnership building. Through his varied experience over 25 years, Andy has developed a strong capacity to identify engineering talent and manage multidisciplinary engineering and business teams.

Fabian Robinson | Manager of Corporate Applications at PJM Interconnection | Panelist
Fabian currently leads the Corporate Applications department of PJM Interconnection. He is responsible for managing a team of analysts and developers who support the enterprise analytics andapplications. He has held this position since April 2018. Previously, he held the post of manager for the infrastructure support department. This included responsibilities for enterprise storage and backup, rapid response, capacity and performance monitoring, and patch and vulnerability management services. In addition, Fabian is the president of the American Association of Blacks in Energy – Philadelphia chapter, a position he has held since 2018. In this capacity, Fabian has had the opportunity to work with educational institutions, corporations, non-profits, and private individuals.Fabian has a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of the West Indies and a master’s degree in Information Systems from The Pennsylvania State University.

Susie Ridenour | Vice President, Energy Services at McCormick Taylor | Panelist
Susie leads McCormick Taylor’s Energy Services, Marketing, Business Development, and Talent Acquisition teams. Prior to joining McCormick Taylor, she worked at the Maryland Department of Transportation, Office of Environmental Design, Environmental Programs Division for 30 years where she managed the environmental process for thousands of transportation, electric, gas pipeline, and power generation projects. She’s worked with federal and state agencies and developed a strong understanding of the techniques and tools that help streamline regulatory approvals. A key to her success has been a career of developing authentic personal relationships.

Rory Sweeney | Regulatory Consultant at GT Power Group | Moderator
Rory manages electricity-industry market intelligence for GT Power Group clients and provides energy-sector media and PR consulting. He has nearly two decades of experience in print and online media and has acted as a media representative for several Fortune 500 energy corporations. Rory has been involved in YPE since 2011 and currently serves as the Philly chapter's secretary and archivist.
