Costas arrays are permutation matrices with an additional constraint that derives from using permutations of frequencies of tones in a radar or sonar waveform:in a matched filter, no more than one tone at a time will cross-correlate when there is a range or Doppler mismatch, which makes them ideal as a frequency-hop scheme. Here we address the real-world issue of multiple waveforms from similar platforms, such as cell phones communicating with the same tower:minimizing cross-interference between platforms. We show how this is done using two databases from IEEE DataPort, one of Costas arrays to order 1030 (DOI 10.21227/H21P42), and one of one of singular value decomposition of matrix forms of the Costas condition (DOI 10.21227/h498-px29).
