There are several established techniques to complete a root-cause failure analysis. This presentation will provide an approach and will review specific actual examples of past root-cause failure analysis of various events related to electrical power distribution systems.
Actual examples will include the following:
1)Failures related to Harmonics
2)Failures related to Adverse Weather Conditions
3)Failures related to Crossing-Magnetic Fields
4)Failures related to Skin-Effect
The challenges of obtaining accurate and complete failure related information will also be reviewed.
