About The Event

If you are a contractor or property manager, enrolling in lead certification courses is a crucial step in protecting your clients, your firm, your workers, and yourself.

Becoming certified follows the Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule, which states that if you are paid to perform renovation, repair, or painting work in houses built before 1978, you must be trained to do so.

This rule is aimed towards the use of safe practices and other actions meant to prevent lead poisoning. As lead can be found in dust, paint, water, and soil in or surrounding a house, it is a contractor’s job to become educated on the proper renovation techniques along with necessary precautions to take if lead-based paint is found in the building.

Whether you are in charge of any contracting company, partnership, corporation, or sole proprietorship, or you work on your own, lead renovator training is an important part of keeping your business afloat. In fact, performing work on any sort of property where there is lead when you don’t have this certification could result in fines of up to $37,500 per day per infraction.

In order to become certified, you must take a lead renovator certification initial course. For those who have already gone through the lead renovator training once, renovator model refresher training is necessary to renew this certification. To conduct testing for renovation projects that required lead dust clearance to be performed, you must take a lead dust sampling technician model initial certification course.

Lead RRP Project Organizer Overview:

The Lead RRP Project Organizer is intended to help keep you in compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Renovation Repair and Painting Rule (40 CFR Part 745). It’s very important because the EPA has begun issuing fines up to $37,500 for rule violations including non-compliance of required paperwork.

The Lead RRP Project Organizer is electronic and is housed in the “cloud”. You will receive unlimited access to the Project Organizer which you can access anywhere from your phone, tablet or computer. All forms and necessary paperwork can be easily printed and used whenever and wherever needed. You are able to download the full document anytime. The greatest part is, we continually update the organizer as new recordkeeping documents are required.

Did you know the EPA can audit your project records for up to 3 years after you complete your work?

The Lead RRP Project Organizer provides an easy to follow step by step process to help you follow the RRP recordkeeping requirements. It contains the most commonly used records and provides guidance on how to properly complete them. The Organizer provides guidance on what records must be maintained on the job site and how to organize your project paperwork after the job is completed.

It is highly recommended that each project maintain a Lead RRP Project Organizer! This will help you have the confidence you need in the event the EPA selects your project to audit.
